Unique funeral urn in raku fired ceramic made in Canada. Three small, benevolent birds adorn the lid of the urn.

The artist is the pioneer of artisan urns in Quebec. She offers us two cooking techniques, gas and raku cooking. This lesser-known technique is a pottery cooking technique of Japanese origin used in the past during the Tea Ceremony, the ritual of which was closely linked to Zen philosophy. The pieces taken out of the oven are placed in the earth and covered with materials such as straw or sawdust and are closed with a lid to obtain the smoking which will give a different result for each piece.
